Alumni Success Stories

ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ alumni have made a positive impact in a variety of career, volunteer and organizational opportunities throughout the world. These are just a few of their stories.

Abigail Manes, Math Education:

Abigail Manes graduated from ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ in the spring of 2016 with her degree in math education. However, her classroom is rather different than a traditional teaching position as Abigail is now a children's minister at First Baptist Church in Muleshoe,Texas -- a dream she found during her many years at ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½.

Brent Knox, Elementary Education:

Brent Knox, a ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ graduate and kindergarten teacher, was once a 44-year-old former welder who had only dabbled with the idea of college.

Kyler Templeton, BS in Fitness Management:

Kyler Templeton earned his Bachelor's degree in Fitness Management Composite with a Specialization in Sports Medicine from ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ in May of 2014. He's currently the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lubbock Monterey High School where he has direct oversight of the young athletes and supervises the student athletic trainers.

Angie Valdez, Secondary English Education:

Angela Lichtie graduated with a degree in Secondary English Education in 2013 from ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ after originally planning to complete a degree in choral education. Shortly after graduation, Lichtie began her career by teaching summer school at Plainview High.

Joe Lombard, Secondary Teaching Degree:

Joe Lombard received his Bachelor of Business degree and later a secondary teaching degree from ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ in 1975. He later received a Master's degree in Secondary Administration from West Texas State University.
