Three faculty members appointed to new leadership roles

PLAINVIEW — ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ has announced new academic leadership appointments for the 2025-2026 academic year, naming three faculty members to key positions within the School of Business and the Don A. Williams School of Education.

Dr. Jason Geesey is the new Dean of the School of Business. Dr. James Anderson now serves as Interim Dean of the Don A. Williams School of Education, and Dr. Michael Morris is the new Associate Dean of the Don A. Williams School of Education – Department of Exercise and Sport Science.

The appointments were announced by Dr. Cindy McClenagan, Vice President of Academic Affairs, who praised the experience and dedication each brings to their new leadership roles.

“These faculty leaders bring a strong commitment to academic excellence and a deep understanding of our students’ needs,” McClenagan said. “Their proven service and leadership make them exceptionally well suited to guide and grow their respective programs in support of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½’s mission.”

Dr. Geesey, a Professor of Marketing, has served as Associate Dean for Master's Programs in the School of Business. In his new role, he oversees undergraduate and graduate programs, building on ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½’s strong tradition of preparing students for success in business and industry.

Dr. Anderson, an Assistant Professor of Education, most recently served as Associate Dean of the School of Education and Coordinator of Principalship and Superintendency Programs. As Interim Dean, he leads the education school during the upcoming academic year while continuing to support the development of future education leaders.

Dr. Morris, a faculty member in Exercise and Sport Science, brings extensive experience in exercise and sport science into his new role as Associate Dean. He is providing leadership for one of the university’s most active academic departments, which prepares students for careers in coaching, teaching, and health and fitness professions.
